Volunteering with “Clean Up Your Alster”

We’re always looking for ways to ensure life at smartclip is about much more than working through our daily to-dos. That’s why when we were planning our latest Marketing & Product Education Team meet-up in Hamburg, we decided to combine our work-related objectives with a bit of giving back.

Our Marketing & Product Education Team is headquartered in Hamburg. However, some of us work from different offices, remotely, or in a hybrid fashion, so we’re rarely all physically together at the same time. After a few busy months full of event planning, an award-winning brand refresh, and two new arrivals 👶, our recent meet-up was the first time everyone had got together in person since our department head, Shira Leffel, and head of Product Education, Mariana Berezin, returned from maternity leave.

We kicked things off by getting up to date not only on smartclip and product updates but also on wider industry topics. If we’re going to continue to find creative, industry-disrupting ways to communicate about smartclip and educate our industry and users about our innovative adtech, we first need to make sure that we’re always well-informed about what’s new, changing, and coming up.

That’s Alex, and this is his concentrated face — trust us, he’s not always this serious 😉

While we had plenty of work-related objectives for the day, we also took the opportunity to participate in smartclip’s Social Day initiative — where smartclippers can take paid time off to volunteer in their local communities. All of us are keen to play our part in improving our environment, so we volunteered with the local non-profit organisation Clean Up Your Alster (CUYA), who shared their equipment and resources so we could make this part of our city look a little bit better. We spent part of our afternoon picking up rubbish along the lake and are proud to know that the trash collected will no longer pollute our city’s waterways and green spaces.

Who said volunteering couldn’t be fun?

After all that collecting and connecting, we rounded off the day by polishing off some much-deserved pizza and catching up over drinks in the office. We all left feeling fully informed and inspired — ready, as a team, to continue our mission to reinvent adtech marketing and product education (hopefully fuelled by more pizza).

Pizza, good company, and lots of smiles

Team meet-ups like this are just one example of how smartclip supports its people, ensuring we regularly get together, work together, and have some fun too. From knowledge-exchange events such as smartweek and Strategy Days to off-site retreats and our Social Days initiative, a smartclip year is full of opportunities to connect beyond our day-to-day work, so we can all thrive in an environment powered by collaboration and team spirit.
