smartclip appoints Aki Ronkainen Head of Sales for the Finnish market to drive further growth in the region

smartclip hires Aki Ronkainen as Head of Sales for the Finnish market. Based in Helsinki, Ronkainen will take smartclip’s business in the region to the next phase.

Ronkainen joins from local media house Otavamedia where he held the position of Sales Manager for their Digital Services. He also serves as Chairman of the IAB Video Committee in Finland where he works on market-specific topics around the development of video advertising in coordination with the central IAB function.

With eight years of local presence in Finland, smartclip is fortifying its position with the hire of Aki Ronkainen, which sets the company up for further growth in the region. Coming from the local media side and combined with the experience from working with the IAB, Ronkainen will contribute his extensive knowledge of the local market and video advertising. He is the ideal candidate to drive smartclip’s strategy in the Finnish market and build a sustainable local media market for video. Ronkainen will replace Jaakko Rautanen, who is leaving the company after eight years and who made a valuable contribution to building up smartclip Finland to its current state.

Aki Ronkainen will join smartclip in mid-October this year as Head of Sales for the Finnish market. He will report to the Nordic Commercial Director, Hilde Marie Gundersen.
