Trading desks – which can operate in-house within an advertising agency (agency trading desk) or as an outsourced independent service (independent trading desks) – oversee the process of programmatic campaign delivery on behalf of brands and advertisers.
Sitting between the brand/advertiser (or agency), and the DSP, trading desks are staffed by specialists in programmatic advertising who, as well as buying ad inventory and managing campaigns across multiple channels, also provide services such as planning, optimisation, and reporting.
