A bid is an offer an advertiser makes at an auction to pay a certain price for ad impressions. In digital advertising auctions, a supply-side platform (SSP) will send a bid request, related to specific ad inventory, to potential bidders (advertisers) on demand-side platforms (DSPs), and if a buyer is interested in the inventory, they will place a bid.
