This may be the cabin fever speaking, but have you seen those fantastic virtual fireplace series on Netflix?
Dear smartxers,
Happy Winter-Clearly-Is-Not-Cancelled Day. Brrr…. 🥶
Let’s gather round the virtual fire and see what the Product Team has been up to.
In case you’re wondering, the virtual fire we prefer is the Fireplace for Your Home: Birchwood Edition, on Netflix. This is one of those rare times when the sequel is better than the original, Fireplace for Your Home. It’s way more realistic — starting with a slow burn, building up to roaring flames, then fading back to gentle crackling. The best part is there is no Christmas music involved. Talk about curfew-friendly weekend activity 🙃!
Is your email inbox —to put it lightly — bursting at the seams? When was the last time you cancelled those scheduled reports that you no longer need? It’s fine, we’ve been there, we get it, and sometimes it’s easier to ignore old reports than to take the time to cancel them in smartx.
To save you the hassle (and us some bandwidth), we added an End Date field in the Scheduled Reports editor in the Reporting tab.
The date in this field will indicate when the system will stop delivering the scheduled report. The default end date is 6 months from the creation date. Users also have the option to leave the field blank, which means the report will be delivered indefinitely.
What’s easier than scrolling through 382 different category exclusions when setting up a Site in the Supply tab? Not doing that. We got things to do (at home) and people (in our household) to see. So, we reorganised IAB category exclusions list into a hierarchical system with main categories and subcategories.
Now, users can select either a main category or subcategory when setting up Category Exclusions in the Exclusions tab of the Site editor.
For example, if a local news publisher wants to block other news outlet ads from running on their inventory, we would select the News category in the example below:
All subcategories under News, such as International News and Local News, will be excluded. Additionally, if the example publisher only wants to block other local news, they can simply select Local News as a subcategory, allowing the chance of other news subcategories to run on their inventory.
Please note that this update will apply to all existing exclusions! This means that if a Site, Publisher, or Placement Group currently has News selected as an exclusion, then tomorrow’s release will automatically add all News subcategories to those exclusions. Please take the time to ensure the correct exclusions apply so that you do not miss out on any potential demand.
Yours in smartx updates and counting down the days for Fireplace for Your Home: Cedar Edition to be released 🔥🔥🔥,
