A data aggregator is a company that collects large volumes of data from multiple sources, repackages it and passes it on, for an agreed fee, to other companies for use in marketing or ad targeting. Data is often compiled into customer/audience segments based on demographic, geo-location, or behavioural characteristics.
Data aggregation refers to the process of aggregating data, such as when data is collated on a data management platform (DMP) to aid with programmatic advertising. See Data Management Platform (DMP), Data Provider.
