The Data Privacy & Technology Partnerships Department at smartclip is a vital support function responsible for various aspects of our company’s IT infrastructure. As a prospective candidate, you would play a key role in project management, communication, and handling procurement, while demonstrating a strong affinity for data privacy and IT security issues. How our department is organised.

The Data Privacy pillar plays a crucial role in coordinating all data protection matters. This includes managing contracts such as publisher and sub-processor data processing agreements, as well as consulting internal departments on new products or general data privacy questions they might have. We serve as an interface to our external data protection officer and legal department. Additionally, we lead strategic projects such as creating a standard contractual clauses template for partners and conducting transfer impact assessments. We also provide valuable support to supply teams by onboarding new publishers and introducing them to the GDPR Cockpit — while also consulting existing publishers — ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.

The Technology Partnerships pillar plays a crucial role in maintaining and managing existing partnerships — including contract renegotiations — such as those with DoubleVerify or MOAT. We are responsible for procurement, ensuring that the right tools are identified to address the needs of smartclip teams. This involves owning the procurement process and toolset, collaborating with stakeholders, gathering requirements, and managing projects to ensure the successful implementation of tools across our organisation. We contribute to the optimisation of technology partnerships and streamline the procurement process within a dynamic environment.

The IT Security pillar is dedicated to ensuring robust security measures within the department. We focus on crucial documentation, such as network security details, computer and system usage, network users, and implementation of two-factor authentication (2FA). We also play a vital role in liaising with shareholders, including RTL and Bertelsmann, to coordinate initiatives like “Basic Infrastructure Measures (BIM)” or the “Information Security Management System (ISMS)” at Bertelsmann. This pillar is driven by conglomerate-wide efforts to enhance information security and safeguard critical infrastructure.
