Summerfest success with ZentralE

At smartclip, our community is spread all across Europe – from Amsterdam to Stockholm, Milan to Madrid — meaning our Social Day initiative takes place in many different cities and in many different forms. This summer, our SME team gave back to their city by helping ZentralE host their annual summer festival.

ZentralE — a partner project between Caritas Köln and IN VIA eV. Köln — is a community centre run by a multi-professional team of educators and a psychologist. Aimed at providing single parents with various resources and support, the centre offers services such as career coaching, counselling, and childcare. Although the centre’s main goal is to ease the process of reentering into the workforce, ZentralE also offers the parents a welcoming space to decompress and network with others in similar situations.

Our six smartclippers spent their day working alongside other volunteers to set up, clean up, and help organise the ZentralE summer festival. Thanks to the help of the SME team, the organisation was able to host a successful and fun day for all attendees. The sun was shining, and they had a lot of fun but were also kept very busy with tasks such as decorating, barbecuing, and providing childcare — just to name a few. Katharina Blenneman, Manager SME Business DACH, left that day feeling proud of the work she and her colleagues were able to accomplish, but when it comes to her fondest memory of the day, she says, “The smiles of the children and parents were the most beautiful.”
