Queries per second (QPS) is an online metric that indicates the number of requests for information a server receives per second – it is commonly used to measure how much traffic an information retrieval system, such as a search engine or database, is receiving and, therefore, its capacity.
QPS plays a key role in digital advertising, where advertisers will want to run campaigns through ad networks or ad exchanges with a high QPS measure, as this demonstrates that the platform not only has good reach but also has the capacity to service that level of demand.
