Hey smartx-ers,
Happy Pride Month! Here at smartclip, we believe in allyship and fully support our LGBTQIA+ community. Whether you call it Pride Month, Christopher Street Day, or another name, it’s an event that anyone — regardless of identification and association — can take part in. However you identify, we’re looking forward to celebrating Pride Month with you! 🏳️🌈 Thanks for being a part of our community, and enjoy some colourful updates below!
In the past, Country and Owner Marketplace label filters have been implemented in some places in smartx, but not everywhere. These filters are relevant for clients spanning multiple countries and for clients/marketplaces using a “multi-marketplace” setup when searching for and selecting inventory.
Now, Country is available as a filter option in Direct Campaigns in the Inventory selection of line items and line item bundles. The filters can now be found under the drop-downs for Placement Targeting, Placement Group Targeting, and Site Targeting.
Country and Owner Marketplace are also available as filter options under Demand Business Rules in the Inventory section. The filters will be found under the drop-downs for Placements, Placement Group Targeting, Site Targeting, and Channel Targeting. The selected filter values are applied to the grid’s content, in combination with other grid filter settings.
The new Geo targeting option combines the previously separated Country, Region, and City settings in the Targeting menu. This option will now be available in Direct Campaigns when the user selects Add/Edit a Line Item or Line Item Bundle. Users will now have a Match all option (where the location must match at least one of the selected Countries, Regions, and Cities at each level) and a Match one option (to match at least one selected entry within a Country, Region, or City).
Line items and line item bundles can be created and updated with or without filling out the new Geo targeting option. An overwrite toggle for Geo targeting is available, similar to the other targeting options. The change will automatically be available for all user accounts. The update was also applied to the smart Booking API.
Advertisers will often modify or change their creatives even before the start or during a running campaign. For that reason, it is helpful for users to have information about the creation date and upload date of each creative within smartx, in order to identify the most recently updated creative and avoid making mistakes. Now, under Demand in the Creatives grid, users can access a new optional column — Creation Date. By default, this is hidden. Users can choose to add this column to the grid and can store this choice in the grid user settings.
We have also been working on the next phase of our transcoding process. If a creative using transcoding is copied, the user will simply need to upload or provide the media file again to kickstart a new transcoding process. This update also now applies to VAST/Video DASH creative types, in addition to VAST/Audio types.
Yours in product updates and celebrating the freedom to be yourself,
